SELF AS SACRED PROCESSING GROUP
What if high-control religion is wrong when it tells us to be self-LESS?
High-control religion often misleads individuals into believing that self-denial is the path to spiritual fulfillment. In reality, a flourishing spiritual life stems from a deep and sacred connection to one's true self.

Using Martha Beck’s book “The Way of Integrity: Finding the Path to Your True Self” as a loose guide, we will journey together toward more authentic, fulfilling, and spiritually vibrant lives.
In this group we will explore –
The Significance of Self-Awareness: Self-sacrifice and self-abandonment are taught as prerequisites for spiritual growth, leading to a sense of inadequacy, powerlessness, and disconnection. We believe a vibrant spiritual life requires a profound understanding and appreciation of one's true self – the unique gifts, talents, and desires that make up one's identity.
Reclaiming the Self: To return to our truest selves, we must actively work to throw off the constraints imposed by fundamentalism, patriarchy, and capitalism. This work opens us up for inner alignment, freed from disregard for our own well-being and habitually giving ourselves away.
Self Alignment As Social Justice: A sacred self is rooted in a deep sense of belonging to oneself and the world. When we align with our truest selves, we can do the most effective and meaningful work in the world; work the world desperately needs.
Grounding Practices: Rebuilding self-trust after exposure to high-control, externally oriented religion can be bumpy. Together, we’ll explore intentional spiritual practices that strengthen one's connection to self and the inner voice.
