In recent years, many committed church attenders have found themselves learning, growing, and evolving out of sync with their beloved faith community. When the teaching and practices of our church leaders no longer align with one’s sense of spirituality, it is common to need to distance oneself or step away from our familiar places of worship.

And for those who’ve built their life and identity on a foundation that includes church, this shift is so disorienting – even when there is certainty in how to handle the conflict or the next step.

You’re not alone in the complexity of emotions, questions, and longings that are an inseparable part of this difficult experience. There are others who are sorting through the hurt and the hope of this very tender space as well. This group is co-facilitated by Melissa and Wendy, dear friends who have a long history of hosting and nurturing community groups as a dynamic duo. Melissa’s experience as a minister/spiritual counselor combined with Wendy’s expertise as a grief specialist makes them uniquely qualified to create a supportive space where group members can find connection and care as you adapt to navigating the world without a church to call home.
